Saturday 7-14 July 2018with Dillon Wallwork

About the Workshop

Haute-couture milliner Dillon Wallwork returns to Chateau Dumas again in 2018 for the ninth year running. With over 30 years’ experience in high-end model millinery Dillon has a set of skills that elevate him above other milliners and make his classes essential for students wanting to learn traditional model millinery.

This workshop is aimed at competent milliners who are looking to take their skills to an even more advanced level. Dillon will focus on refining your skills for working with traditional millinery fabrics.  You'll learn advanced techniques for creating different foundations and for working with sinamay.

Dillon will demonstrate how to cover crowns and pillboxes with a variety of fabrics and how to construct large brims with sinamay including techniques for fabric-covered couture edges. He will also demonstrate how he achieves his signature opulent bows. In addition Dillon will explore the different methods of securing a hat so that it fits comfortably and sits firmly in place.

The workshop coincides with the local International Hat Festival, Estivales du Chapeau,  which takes place in the nearby town of Caussade.   We will visit the Festival during the week as well as the food and craft market in the medieval town of St Antonin-Noble-Val.

This workshop will suit those with millinery experience who are wishing to build on and perfect their skills.
