About the Workshop
Cooking with the seasons and visiting brocantes is a way of life in France. Join Ramekins and Chateau Dumas chef Charlotte Clement for a week-long trip of cooking, wine tasting, and antiquing in the most beautiful, lush part of the country.
A typical day might begin with a visit to a farmer's market or a stroll through an atmospheric, medieval village, antiquing at a brocante or local “vide-grenier”, followed by a hands-on cooking class and demonstration and a sumptuous meal served on the hillside terrace of Chateau Dumas overlooking the peaceful rolling Quercy countryside.
During the week we’ll visit the wonderful town of Cahors, famous for its “noble” red wines, and the wonderfully preserved village of St Cirq Lapopie which is one of thirteen listed historic French monuments. On the final day we visit the vibrant city of Toulouse for the monthly fleamarket and historic city tour.
Chateau Dumas is an exquisitely restored 18th century, 22 acre private estate. The proprietor has meticulously appointed each room with a collection of beautiful antiques and objects while maintaining a sensitivity to modern day comfort.
This wonderful week in the heart of France includes 7 nights' Chateau accommodation, all meals and wine with dinner, cooking classes, hotel taxes and service fees, all excursions and visits and local transportation.
